Syntyvat auringosta peraisin olevien varattujen hiukkasten tormatessa ilmakehan atomeeihin ja molekyyleihin n. 90-250 km: korkeudessa. Tormayksen seurauksena happi ja typpi hehkuvat revontulivaloa

Caused when charged particles from a Sun collide with atoms and molecules in the Earth’s atmosphere at the altitude of 90-250 km. Due to the collission oxygen and nitrogen are emiiting auroral light.
